Part of a series of political interventions, meetings and grass roots activities where the Moroccan American community interacts directly with presidential hopefuls and likely Democratic Nominees for US President and raise their issues and demonstrate that Moroccan Americans are actively engaged in the ’08 presidential race.
The delegation headed by Mr. Said Oudghiri attended a fundraiser, May 15th, for Presidential hopeful Sen. Hillary Clinton. In a lengthy conversation with the AMC delegation, Sen. Hilary Clinton emphasized the importance of Morocco as a US ally and said that she cherishes the memories of the time spent in Morocco when her husband was president. She also encouraged the Moroccan American community to become more involved in the political process and share its views and issues with the decision makers.
The event was successful and we are looking forward, with the active help of additional community members, to forthcoming events that would enhance the both the profile of the community and promote better relations between our two nations.
