| Dear moroccoboard.com manager,
You very
probably know that Wikipedia is a global international collaborative
encyclopaedia where everyone who has an internet connection can participate
by creating or editing pages on any kind of topics.
Wikipedia has
now evolved to one of the most searched references by journalists and all
active people in the academia, in the civic society and in the international
public opinion, and there is almost not topic in the world that is not
treated in this.
There are
articles on Morocco as well. However they are sadly
not always accurate as fanatic pro Polisario activists abuse of the free
global encyclopaedia to push anti-Morocco propaganda. Unfortunately only few Moroccans are aware and participate actively to stop
this.
Here is the
site of Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org - Just search Morocco or Western
Sahara to see what is meant.
You can help
to change this situation and you don't need to do much, just a few clicks.
Visit the pages of Morocco and all related topics and participate with edits
or discuss in the talks. These are important as usually disputes are
resolved via votes or consensus in which every voice counts.
Please be
aware though that although the encyclopaedia is free it has its rules and
principles which are recommended to respect in order to be effective:
- You can
edit anonymously, but it is better to register and to use a pseudonym
- Don't
vandalise pages, which means don't delete or change things abruptly
- Be
objective in your changes. Source and discuss them if they are not just
minor (formatting, spelling errors etc.)
- Pay
attention to the copy rights and don't upload images etc. that are not
explicitly free for use.
- Don't
revert changes more than three times in 24 hours. Users who break the 3RR (3
Reverts Rule) are blocked temporarily and in case of repetition
indefinitely.
So please,
don't leave space for polisarian activists. The more you participate the
more you country is presented in a fair and objective manner.
Thank you.
