Washington Mayor Fenty supports petition for Barack Obama to speak in Morocco

washington mayor fentyWashington Mayor Adrien Fenty who is expecting to host up to 4 million people in downtown DC for the inauguration of President-elect Barack Obama has recently celebrated his 36th birthday and a fundraiser with a big party that was held at a large  backyard tent with over a thousand people at a sprawling home in the Upscale section of Washington, DC.
The mayor  welcomed wall-to-wall friends and contributors to his  birthday party and his first 2010 re-election fundraiser.

"The time has come to engage the residents of the District of Columbia about the future of the city. .... We cannot rest on the improvement we've fostered thus far and will continue to work with all residents to make Washington, DC  a world class city." said the mayor

Among the invitees and contributors were  Moroccan Community  members and friends-of-the-mayor that chatted with the mayor and informed him of the ongoing campaign to entice President elect Barack Obama to make his first foreign policy speech from Morocco.
Mayor of Washington, Adrien Fenty, said " it is a good Idea, Morocco is an ideal location for that speech"

In a subsequent encounter with Jan and Phil Fenty,  the mayor’s proud parents who were on hand for the mayor's 38th birthday bash. They run their Fleet Feet running shoe store in Washington for over 24 years, while Jan Fenty , the mayor's mother, worked as a DC public school teacher.
His father, Phil Fenty, informed the Moroccan Community members present  that his own grandfather is from Morocco. the Group members were startled by this unexpected piece of information and promptly admitted the mayor and his family to the Moroccan American community since the mayor's own great grand father was Moroccan and celebrated the event with a well deserved glass of fresh mineral water.

i think it's a very good idea if mr president obama starts his first foreign policy toward the arabs and muslims from the kingdom of morocco. that will be a second history after he becames a president of united states,and also because morocco has a very good relationship with the rest of the world.i will love to see that happend and i very sure the kingdom of morocco will give a big support to mr president obama to make that happend.finally i want to thank the morocco board stuffs for their efforts.
