Tunisia: The First Family a "Quasi Mafia", Wikileaks E-mail
Wednesday, 08 December 2010 13:37

Washington / Morocco Board News    A recent cable from the US embassy in Tunis released by wikileaks describes Tunisia's President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali's family entourage as a "quasi Mafia" because of its "organized corruption". The cable, dated June 2008, under the title "What's yours is mine," the embassy cites more than a dozen examples of abuse by the family of Tunisia's President.
For example, the president's wife is given land free by the state, the land gets developed free of charge, a school gets built on it and sold by the president's wife.

A son in law of the president buys 17% of a bank "banquet du Sud" prior to its privatization and sells his share later pocketing a generous profit.
Another son in law expropriates land from the state and building a mansion, officially for the benefit of a state water company.

In the summer of 2009, another memo, while welcoming the robust economic growth (5% on average) and the advanced status of women, the cable adds "Tunisia is a police state, with little freedom of expression or association, and serious human rights problems.... President Ben Ali is getting older, his regime is sclerotic, and there is no successor" and that "many Tunisians are frustrated by the lack of political freedom and are angry at the corruption by the First family, the high unemployment and the regional economic disparities. extremism remains a threat. Faced with these problems, the Government does not accept criticism or advice, whether from within or from outside. Conversely, it only seeks to impose stricter controls, often relying on the police.
The result: Tunisia is troubled and our relations are too."

Even the U.S. embassy in Tunisia, is finding it difficult to work in Tunisia. The " Minister of Foreign Affairs", is forcing the embassy to have written permission before any contact with all official and semi-official Tunisian organizations. A meeting request should be accompanied by a diplomatic note and "Many request bu the US Embassy remain unanswered," the cable adds.
It also notes that Guests from Tunisian ONGs that are invited to the US embassy functions are intimidated by Tunisian police posted outside the Embassy

The United States, the cable adds, should ask the European countries to intensify their efforts "to persuade the Tunisian government to accelerate political reform."
Germany and Britain are committed to this idea, but "key countries like France and Italy are reluctant to put pressure" on Tunisia.

the ben ali regim will end soon, but no successor
the first familly is really unhealthy all what it do
is taking no giving
it happen all over the worl ,first family always get benifit from that position
but they give back to the people some of that
why it is hard for the president to control his family behavor
i personaly beleve that he have a chance to end his long careier
with an ammzing act of love toward his people and his country
a real political reform that stop any crime organisation
even first family to interfer and open the door to newsuccessor
i m sure mr ben ali wants to leave but he is worry about the
bad health that our political stand is now
all leader do bad and good and they differ from country to another
about ours, i beleive he had a lot of mistakes ,but who knows the reasons
only close informer can says
he did some good things
but as a small population country and the length of hi presidential
time ,he shoold appoligize to his people, and the only
way to do that is to give birth to that healthy political reform
mr preident please make this thing correct and do not leave the
country drove into bloody fight

they are in fact agents, working for former coloniser and new masters( corporations). Their main task is to keep their people under control, reap the wealth and doggingly bow to their masters.
meanwhile the people of the land ,who kicked the coloniser out is resorting to :

1 : leaving the country by all means fleeing it's jailors and their masters.

2 : live in a very restricted environment + be mistreated by the elite and their cronies, submit and b enslaved

3 : revolt, but it's so far fetched because u can't even trust your friend , thinking he/she might b working for the state thus going cookoo

let's think about this
Good evening all,
first of all think about timing, the reason and who is targeted by these leaks?
it's a game, let's think and try to find out what's behind, what's on the way?
all countries, why only few mediterraneans countries, some midle east contries and some far east countries.
Personaly i didn't see any bad diplomatic cables about any european country or American or Canada.Strange, isn't it?
All about corruption in some countries, ploting from some other countries against others.
i do not think alies will stab each other in the back. all this is a comedy which will end up by another slavery or colonialism, under another aspect.
this is my thinking, please feel free to join me and discuss it together. maybe if we join our ideas we will end up with a good vue on what's going on the world.
now It's time to sit down and take a breath and think deeply about what will happen when and under which circunstances.
come on let's talk about it, who's ready and want to discuss this?
waiting your comments brothers.
i'm going to have a drink atay m'chehher ou m'neanaa

North African Butchers alive and kicking
Ben Ali (75), Bouteflika (74), and Qaddafi (69).

Is with these old farts that North Africa will see the light?
These are the butchers of North Africa who are holding an entire generation hostage.

And the sad part is that no one is doing the damned thing about it.
They are still celebrating these butchers "accomplishments".
Does this say something about the North African mind (lazy)or we are too weakened to raise our hands and ask for a change?
The sad part is that the west who claims to champion democracy and the rule of law is encouraging these crooks to continue embezzling the resources of the North Africa people.
You may notice that i neglected to place M6 with them.

I think M6 is dealt a bad hand and he's genuine but he's stuck with Naciri and alike.
He's been moving from one crook to the other and as of yet he's still looking for his star.

Most Arab leaders are no more than cut-throat dictators who need to be thrown out by force. They represent nothing but themselves. We need for their nations to outst them and replace them with honest and hard-working individuals. It is a shame that Arabs in general will always be ensalved by their own leaders and those who rule other nations. Wake up sheep!!
