This victory takes morocco back to the seventies and eighties when the social parties lost to parties with unknown agendas. Moroccans participated in huge numbers to deliver a vote of confidence for a party they barely knew for reasons many ignored but are clear to anyone who scratches the surface' the Istiklal lost of its notoriety because its leadership not its ideology, not to exclude the Prime Minister, who demonstrated poor leadership qualities. Moroccans are ready to give their hard earned right to vote fairly to any party that promises an end to the old status quo. Let s face it morocco is in need for a new start and the Islamists did not deliver after their successful campaigns in recent elections; they too played ball just like the rest of them. The question remains is the new party-movement-elite club or whatever you may call it a real halt to old business? or the curse of wining will overwhelmingly readjust this party's agenda in the future and Moroccans will realize once for all that all parties are equal and are just packaged differently, and that Morocco’s politics just like its football: is a real mockery of the Moroccan citizen who clearly wants and deserves a better national team and why not a better parliament. The overcrowded political mosaic in morocco is problematic the 20 parties in morocco do not represent the real political diversity in the country, one can assume that there may be no more than 4 different political orientations in morocco and the 16 remaining ballets are rubbish that confuse the voter more than anything else. Moroccans are not as spread out and divided politically and ideologically as the number of parties suggests, they can be well served with less parties and real campaigns for a change and if the party in question wins, its leaders have no choice but to deliver or change their career, perhaps football coach we are always hiring those. Football or politics Parliament or Federation, it is all the same people making promises clearly meant to be broken knowing that the Moroccan will vote and shut up, will watch his national team loose and shut up and if he is not happy he can always stop voting or turn off his TV set because there are millions, uneducated, unconcerned who will keep watching their team lose and their parliamentarians hibernate

... I feel like giving PAM a chance. I know that we are used to things to turn sour. They won't be able to change things but if they can simply show the way and shake things up, that's a plus. if they can lead by example, that can be infectious. We have a 33 year old woman the new mayor of Marrakesh, that's a good thing and a good example. I would have hoped that she could be someone from not a well known family but who cares if she can do the job and do it well. Again and as usual, we'll just have to wait and see. I think that we are moving in the right direction when we do not use the religion as an excuse. I think that we should support the forward looking folks who want to move Morocco forward. |
