Last time I checked, the Borders between Morocco and Algeria were still closed. Furthermore, several intelligence reports revealed the installation, by the Algerian Military, of sophisticated high-tech radars to stop the illicit traffic in goods and drugs between the two countries. And yet, the Algerian press has been circulating news stories about an alleged Jewish gang trading in “body parts” and abduction of Algerian children towards Morocco. In its edition of September 6, 2009, the Algerian daily Al-khabar reported, for a second time, on an alleged gang of Moroccans, Algerians and Africans roaming around in Algerian cities, kidnapping Algerian children to be smuggled to Morocco. Once in the Moroccan city of Oujda, the Algerian children are sold to Israelis or harvested for their organs then sent to Israel or New York, according to Al-khabar. Dr. Mustafa Khayatti, the head of the Algerian National Committee for the Development of Health Research and the source of the story, fingered the Brooklyn based Rabbi Levi Rosenbaum, who was arrested in New Jersey on organ trafficking charges, as the head and beneficiary of this operation. It sounds as Dr. Khayatti is well connected within the FBI and has access to Interpol documents. Al-Khabar, a powerful Arabic newspaper with a history of investigative journalism, once again broke a significant news story. Major news organization, such as the Iranian backed Press TV, pickup the story and was able to confirm all the facts. Not even close, appallingly pathetic, is in fact, the way to describe the actors of this ludicrous tale. Fiction and fantasy are two words to describe this awfully sick story. Khayatti is probably a typical Algerian low graded Government civil employee, sitting in a small bare and windowless office, making up imaginary tales to distract the Algerian people from their daily struggles. Al-khabar, a shameless paper, is planting more seeds of hatred between the Algerian and Moroccan brothers and sisters. For Press TV, it feeds its audience any story that would make the Iranian Mullahs looks good, and reinforces their anti-Semitic (Arab and Jewish) editorial line. Needless to say, neither Al-khabar nor Press TV provided a source for their story, other than an obscure low level Algerian bureaucrat- if in fact such person exists. However, the bearing of such incendiary tales is real and dangerous. Al-Khabar so-called journalists must know the great impact and the outrage of the allegations of kidnapping of Algerian children and the desecrations of their bodies on the Algerian public; and the meaning of implicating Morocco in such ill thinking. Along the same lines, the Algerian daily and the Iranian TV station continues their pointless anti-Semitic campaigns, using Morocco’s proud historic and cultural Jewish heritage as a tool to turn the Algerian people against their neighbors. What is dangerous in this work of fantasy is the plot to package the true story of the arrest of Rabbi Levy Rosenbaum in New Jersey with the non-sense nightmarish-tale out of Algeria. To their credit, the Algerian authorities, up until now, did not ask their Moroccan counterparts for an official investigation. As most Algerians ask themselves, who are these kidnapped children? Where are their parents? Who conduct these organ harvesting operations? How are the children and the organs transported from Morocco to Israel? And more importantly, how can the Algerian Army allow such illicit traffic go unabated? Those questions were supposed to be answered by the AL-Kabar and Press TV before disseminating the news. But then, both “media” entities do not care, their intended damage was done. Or was it? The Algerians are much smarter than Al-Khabar and their alike think.
