Contributing Muslims

We take much pride in our ancestors and their accomplishments during the heydays of the great Arab civilization, rightly so.  
In those days, Baghdad was the center of world civilization.  Baghdad today, is the center of world chaos. 
We produced many great Arab men including:

1. Ibn Sinaa, the father of modern medicine.
2. SalahEddine Al-Ayoubi, the great liberator and defender of Jerusalem. 

      When the Crusaders got hold of Jerusalem from Arab hands, they killed all its 
      Muslim inhabitants.  I am not attacking Christianity or anything.  I respect
            all religions. 
            When SalahEddine grabbed Jerusalem back from the hands of the crusaders, he
            ordered not to harm any innocent Christian. 
            How did we go from SalahEddine Al-Ayoubi to Osama Bin Laden?
      - Tarik Ibn Zayad, the first to open Europe’s doors to the Arab world,
      - Jaber Ibn Hayan who was renowned for his work in chemistry.
      - Alkhawarizmi who was renowned for his work in mathematics, astronomy,
         astrology, and geography.    

I am sure that by now, just like me, you feel a sense of joy and pride as you can hold your head high.  I hope you are unsubtle by something I mentioned.  If you are thinking that may be I don’t have some of my facts straight then I am relieved; None of the five listed men mentioned above are Arabs.  Ibn Sinaa, Alkhawarizmi, and Jaber Ibn Hayane were either Persians or from the neighboring tribes (Tajicks, Kurds, Pashtos…), Salah Eddine Al-Ayoubi was a Kurd; Coincidently he was born in Tikrit just like Saddam was.  How did we go from SalahEddine to Saddam? Tarik Ibn Zayad was a Berber or a Moor.
Wait a minute now; I am not discrediting Arabs or anything.  Arabs started this whole thing, engineered some of these ideas, guided these people, and provided means for them to do what they did.  Arabs have also produced many great thinkers, philosophers …
We were great at running things then.  We are doing a good job ruining things now.
Let it be known that Arabs peaked, intellectually, politically, and economically under Islam.  Let us call it what it is, Islamic civilization so not to exclude any contributing Muslim.
