Poems:

A Mirage

By Jamal Laoudi

I am giving up to finally make your wish come true

It has been a long rough road with most my days blue

I dreamt of a vision that is a mirage after all

All alone in a place where no one answers the call

Nothing grows out of sand

No matter how much water you pour

Time to focus on my thirsty land

For your burning heat dried it poor

How can I be permanently blind?

Yet my eyes can clearly see

Some things are not easy to find

When someone else holds the key

I reflect on my nature

In hope to find an answer

To stop believing this fiction

And kick this bad addiction

I hope we are not ridding a merry-go-round

As I have a broken rearview mirror

I hear the birds' singing abound

As all to me become clearer
